Timshel - Vanuatu to Australia Day 4

Good progress again but wind up and down and direction varying too - sometimes on a 60 deg close reach sometimes 120 deg broad reach. Hydra will steer both these but difficult to get set up in between - or perhaps it is the waves pushing us about. Also doing what Emma on Cesarina (I think) referred to as Hokey-Cokey with the sails - in, out shake it all about (as the wind changes). Trying to keep up at least 6 knots or more, hand steering when necessary, we are undoubtedly last in the fleet, but it would be nice to make the finish before the closing deadline, and possibly even clear customs on Friday and not have to pay the 80 dollar overtime. We are managing to just about cook but only a small flame available and forget about having 2 burners on at once so it takes a while, rather envious when Tulla Mhor said on SSB that they'd made a cake as not enough gas for our oven. Hopefully we can get the system sorted when we get to Mackay. Quite cold at times at night, was even thinking I'd have to look out some socks.
