Ximera - Day 4 - Tropic of gennaker

The plankton-wake at night is more beautiful than the GPS, we often sit looking backwards during our watches.

No other Arc boat around us, also the VHF is quiet. Some drops of rain are better than coffee.

At 6 am wind gusts at 30 knots, we furl a bit of jib and on big waves Ximera flies at 11-13 knots. On one of those occasions our ham leg takes a walk in the galley. Is the pork still alive?

The day is windy and wavy. At 15.44 we cross the Tropic of Cancer, one of those invisible lines that split our planet; one of Henry Miller's books.

But from 14.30 we had some minor problems with Jenny the gennaker that lead us to take it down and to find ourselfes, four people, furled into it as a sleeping bag.

An apple each is our salute to our Tropic of gennaker and a pod of dolphins our reward for dealing with 'a very naughty' Jenny who has been sent to the DogBox for 24 hours!

Lots of clouds at sunset, but we're half-way to Cape Verde. Quiet sailing night with 15 knots, perfect for rest. More dolphins playing in their wake plankton-luminescente. The amazing sea ...
