Enigma - Day 2 - waiting, waiting, waiting

Subject: Day 2 - waiting, waiting, waiting
The sea is flat and we're waiting for the firmer NE, ENE winds to kick in. We keep saying as soon as we have steady pressure from this direction we'll unfurl our Simbo rig and fly. Every time we think the wind is filling we get a 2 knots on the beam which dampens our enthusiasm. In the meantime, we've been through all the countries and capital cities we can think off, played " I spy" ( very short - people kept using the letter S, and guessing the correct answer ) and had a cream tea - with cake. Viv has played with her hula hoop on the foredeck, and the rest of us just watched. Don't want to overdo it. I'm wearing an eyepatch and looking around the boat for a parrot to glue onto my left shoulder. Its all go .
Allan's turn to cook tonight and the bar is at a high standard - no pressure Allan. The rumour is chicken curry with couscous. Very Fusion. The 4.5 tonnes of grapes we have on board is also slowly getting eaten. They have pips in them ! Such a first World problem.

We're still in the company of some larger yachts, which we interpret as a good thing for many reasons, including the competition. To date we have  seen no cetaceans, or flying fish, which we did last time I did the journey. We do still see the occasional lone Shearwater, wing tips just millimetres above the surface.

Will the winds kick in? Will the Simbo rig propel us  to Cape Verde? And who are we going to eat if rations get low?

See tomorrows exciting episode of The voyages of SY Enigma.

Paul, Viv, Allan and Diane
