Widago - St. Lucia Leg (7): Twin Tunas

With under 500 miles to landfall, WIDAGO has been motors sailing along at comfortable clip. Today was perfect weather for parasailor flying (bright & sunny, no squalls, winds 18-22kts on our back, and 7-9 swells to surf). Too bad we couldn't get Big Blue outta the bag.

Ahab spent much of today contemplating, analyzing, brainstorming, and researching options for getting The Whomper repaired locally in the Caribbean or sent back to Germany. He's also changed his mind about secondary options for running downwind. Today's version includes having a second smaller parasailor. We shall see how this plays out.

One of my favorite quotes from Einstein is somewhat apropos, "It's not that I'm smarter than anyone. I just stick with problems longer". My apologies to old Al, as I'm sure I misquoted him terribly. Regardless, (or "irregardless" as my Greaty would joke) Ahab tends to share that trait of single minded focus on a problem until all options are exhausted, and all people around him are exhausted from listening him sort it out. It is one of his defining characteristics that at times is maddening, but ultimately, in my opinion, has led us to where we are. Which is a good thing. Very good indeed.

On lighter note, we had a fantastic day out here on the water in beautiful weather. Just before lunch, both big rods were stuck within a few minutes of each other. William and Gordon each landed their yellowfin tunas with assistance and moral support from the rest of the crew. We had sashimi apps followed by teriyaki steaks for lunch. Brilliant.

Since we are usually late, today was our Thanksgiving feast. In preparation, I had baked the apple crisp yesterday. Obviously, we ate the pie for breakfast in case we got too full after dinner. The boys have a Star Wars marathon going in preparation for #7, The Force Awakens. So dinner included gravy and wookies.

May The Force be with you.
