It has been a frustrating few days for ARC+ skippers in Mindelo as they await the results of the vital PCR tests, before they get the “all clear” ready for departure. Problems with imported supplies of test-kit reagents into the small island nation of Cape Verde, have resulted in the scheduled restart from 19th November, being further delayed to Monday 23rd November.
Rally organisers, World Cruising Club (WCC) continue to liaise closely with the health authorities in Cape Verde, to expedite the long-waited test results. In anticipation of this, a start is now planned for the afternoon of 23rd November. Some skippers have decided to depart independently before receiving their official test results. Meanwhile, rally crews continue to make the most of their extended stay at Marina Mindelo, enjoying the relaxed, sunshine-vibe of Cape Verde for another day.
