Long ole emotional day.

Started without a generator or the ability to make water without  a diesel smell … ended vice verse.

Very light air night. Squalls rolling through with big wind and very heavy torrential rain. Much easier to relax and ‘sleep’ knowing the troops will wake you up.

Full moon and cloud cover made the whole night appear like a movie set. Just after dinner last night, we had the first squall that really had our name on it. My lightweight Tab ‘bogie’ top literally filled with water. First reef in anger. Those on deck performed excellently. John held his nerve.

Down below, an odd loud noise was reported. Troops went to work and checked for ingress of water. Nothing found. Suspect it was down to the whole thing being under considerable strain.

After first night, there were real signs of fraying within the crew. The light airs is a real test of nerve. It is an equal and different test of nerve to saliing in heavy winds. Arguably considerably harder … you can hear yourself think.

A whole crew effort ensued to get the generator operational again. We drained some fuel and swapped some filters. Topped off the tanks and after several hours, hit the start button and it sprang to life. Much cheer and hurrah!

Water maker was running and Syrian Showers all had.

Tomorrow will be a big drive to clean the boat. Something of a bomb site ate the moment.

ARC forecast is fairly emotional this evening. Overnight gusts over 43knots. The local weather I am currently seeing is considerably less, so much so all are sitting comfortably on deck.

Hoping to get a decent sleep with the permission of King Neptune and his Squally helpers.

A little breeze and a direction down the line to St Lucia is great for morale.

Can start thinking about sailing and clawing back some miles on our friends and competitors.

Stay safe out there you lovely people.

Be grateful the little things each and everyday as you lead the best life.

Fair breeze, god speed and following seas.
