Xerric - On the way to the Caribbean

Fine weather, finally at sea again. Impressive to see this massive fleet streaming out of the harbour. Everything there, from massive parasailors, passat sails to just normal settings. Great. Now the tactics under us come to play: more south, more north, straight west? Perhaps the forecast of the low winds in the west is definitely wrong? On the other hand again: Rock'n Roll, not as hard as after Las Palmas, but quite uncomfortable. We decided for the Westward Ho with boomed GE and a better wave pattern. Went not too bad. Slowly friends disappear, after three days we found nobody on Sight or AIS anymore. In the meantime some fixing (we are on a sailboat), for example as we wanted to start the engine for some charging, there was an unknown noise: Alternator belt loose. Ok, done :-)

Day two the waves went lighter and more Atlantic style: good old high fellows with long intervals, fine for a steady and comfortable up and down. Day three just as shift change in the morning we had the silly idea to test the fishing gear: astonishingly immediately a bite, which showed up as a fine tuna of more than 15kg. Yuppie: sashimi for breakfast and fine fish dishes the next days! But the catch was a good fight, more than an hour boat against the wind and no speed in our direction. Well, sorry folks, we might be somewhat late in St. Vincent, but this kind of fish deserves some attention definitely. Might be even later if we catch more. Los Xerricos are in good mood
