Maxim 46 - Log Day 7 Feeling the vibe

Waking up with dolphins, a coffee and fresh pancakes. What a way to start the day!
When pulling the code 0 out the hatch got damaged by the sheet. Shoot, there goes our happy vibe. Luckily we could fix it and we had calm weather. Lesson learnt, check everything one more time. Lisa made us happy with some cupcakes, included toppings of your choice.
We went through Lisas Science classes today and she read a lot. Super proud mom!

The next day, I had a restless feeling when I woke up. Johan wanted to get the Parasailor out since the weather is changing. A moment later we found out the splices came loose completely. Fix immediately! Could have lost the sail eventually! After an hour, time to get it up again…. We had fish! Fighting with a big Mahi Mahi! Went around the sides of the boat but we could get it in! WOW what a number!
Parasailor up now, or not? Halyard has a damage! Tried to look with the binoculars at the top, but have to get the line down. After a close look, the sheet was stuck behind cotter pin and ripped the sleeve of the sheet. Happy we found out, but now we really have to make a stop in Cabo Verde. After a quick check with ARC Rally committee we are aloud to stop 24 for emergency reasons. Straight to the fueldock, heard that many sailors had to wait since the fuel is finished quickly. Got a spot in front of the fuel pump. Tomorrow we are the first at 9am.
At this time the wind dropped so no sail up for us but motor straight to Mindelo.
The diner made the day right again. Mahi Mahi from the grill but just about the time the plates were on the table we caught a floater with fishing line! After a dive-check it was wrapped around the rudder. Managed to cut it loose. Full of growth! Interesting shells so Lisa checked them out immediately. When you touch them, they closed the shell. Like little mussels. And now finally diner.
