ARC Europe Weather BVI Bermuda 04 May

Forecast BVI-Bermuda
May 04 06:27z

From Weather Routing Inc. (WRI)

Synopsis: Broad High located SE of Bermuda will move little today and then drift E-SE as it weakens through the 06th. Ridging associated with the high is relatively moderate in strengthen near and immediate north of the Caribbean Sea, with broader ridging near and north of 25N to Bermuda now.

The moderate ridging north of the Caribbean Sea will change little through tomorrow morning and then weaken/broaden from tomorrow afternoon through the 06th as the axis of the broader ridge shifts S to along/near 25N. Somewhat weaker ridging extends from the high SW to the Bahamas but this will weaken/broaden starting tonight and continuing through the 06th.

A weak trough located offshore of the Carolinas to Georgia coasts will move NE with no tropical development expected, with the trough merging with a front to the north tomorrow.

Low pressure south of Cape Cod near 38N/70W tomorrow morning is expected to strengthen as it moves E and by late 06th it will be centered near 38N/53W with a front that will trail W-SW to just north of Bermuda at that time.

Conclusion: For Zones A and E, not much change in weather is expected over the next 2-3 days as generally E'lys between 15-20kts are expected with swells building up to 7 feet with isolated squalls.

Zones B and G are likewise, expected to remain similar over the next several days. In both of these zones, SE'lys on the 04th will gradually veer and become more S'ly by the 06th as winds will generally range between 10-15kts where swells will gradually lower over the next couple of days. Swells will generally range between 5-7 feet, before lowering by the 06th between 3-5 feet.

Zone C will see a diverse spread of conditions pending what side of the zone the vessel is in. As a cold front begins to approach the areas north of Bermuda on the 05th/06th an increase in conditions are expected within Zone C. This will cause winds to increase upwards of 30kts (isolated gusts up to 35kts) especially in the N'rn half of the zone (North of Bermuda). On the other hand, lower conditions near 15-20kts are expected in the S'rn half of the zone. This is the same as swell as the largest of swell is expected north with lower swell south. Hence, the wide range of swell on the 05th/06th.
