World Cruising Club have announced dates and opened entries for the next edition of ARC Europe, which will now take place in May and June 2021. The west-to-east transatlantic rally has two start ports, Nanny Cay in Tortola, BVI and the Chesapeake Bay on the US east coast. Attracting cruising sailors returning to Europe at the end of the Caribbean season, and those making their way across the Atlantic for the first time, the rally is a unique 6-week experience with time to explore Bermuda and cruise the Azores archipelago en route to Marina de Lagos, in Portugal, or other ports in Northern Europe.
Regrettably the decision has been taken that it is not possible to run the rally in 2020 under the global restrictions to limit the spread of coronavirus. With measures in place for the foreseeable future curtailing international travel and in the interest of protecting the health and wellbeing of all those involved in ARC Europe, postponing the event until 2021 was the safest and most sensible option. Several participants due to take part in 2020 have already indicated their hope to join the 2021 edition.
World Cruising Club and supporters from the host ports are looking forward to being able to deliver the rally to in a safe and social environment next year, and assist sailors to enjoying great ocean cruising adventures once again.ARC Europe 2021 Schedule
