Looking forward to St Lucia
We are now able to estimate our arrival to within a twelve hour period, which puts us arriving sometime on Saturday morning if conditions continue as they are. That said, we just gybed, including an elegant 360 degree turn, carefully wrapping our fishing line around the generator blades and potentially the rudder. This kind of excitement may slow us down and certainly precludes a fresh tuna dinner.

We are starting to think about winding down the resources on the boat. This includes gradually using up the port water tank, the emergency backup, so that it is empty when sitting on the docks in St Lucia for a few months. That task was easier said than done. After three years of two working water tanks, the port tank was the second of two to stop working in the last three weeks. Back to the water maker and the fixed starboard tank.

The only fresh fruit on board includes three lemons, an orange and eight bananas. We have impressively bought bananas that after almost three weeks at sea are still not ripe. They may be ready for Richard and Yael's tour of the Caribbean in April. That said, this has given us a prime excuse to move onto tinned peaches, the greatest of the tinned fruit. We also had an experimental tasting of tinned passion fruit, which turns out to be least passionate and delicious of the tinned fruit.
We are now 15 degrees north of the equator and 53 degrees west on Greenwich. As such the northern hemisphere winter weather presents itself as hot and humid. We are all watching the water maker for its finishing time so that we can take a quick rinse and freshen up after a few days of sun cream and sweating.

Zaurak out.
