Welcome to sunny Bornholm

Sailing on the 1st Leg of the ARC Baltic from Warnemunde in Germany the 24 boats arrived in Ronne Harbour in Bornholm after 110NM of a wet and windy passage.

The first boats arrived on Monday evening when the remaining of the boats arrived throughout Tuesday under blue sky and sunny weather. Boats were either rafter together alongside the main wall, a good opportunity for them to get to know each other or put onto a mooring buoy.

While the last boat arrived on Tuesday evening, participants gathered for a dock BBQ after the Rally Team worked hard to get the coal burning. Participants cooked their own meat, salmon or burgers on the grill, enjoying calm weather and beautiful sunset in the harbour.

On the programme, Wednesday was mark as a free day, good opportunity for participants to go cycling around the island up to Arnager following the cycling track into the forest and then on to Boderne along the coast. They also took time to check the chandlery and do some repairs and provisioning into town.

Finally on their last day in Ronne participants went on a Bus tour around the Island, taking them to the famous Medieval fortress of Hammershus, then stopping for lunch in the beautiful little harbour village of Gudhjen and finally visiting the famous round church of Osterlars on the way back.

For their last night into Ronne, boats finalize their passage downloading the last weather forecast for the next leg to Visby, arranged to take some fuel and water, and checked out with the Rally Team.

On Friday morning boats started to depart at 0600 from Ronne to Visby for a 200NM passage.
