Timshel - Christmas to Cocos Day 3

Another quiet day sailing. We don't seem to get the 17-20 knots of wind reported by boats ahead, on the other hand we have not been becalmed either. Set the cruising chute mid-morning; it seemed like a lot of work for at most 0.5 knot increase in speed, I guess the wind dropped as we set it and we also went further downwind to be on the proper course. At least we noticed that the halyard snapshackle was coming apart BEFORE we hoisted the sail. Saw one fishing boat, otherwise not a lot out here, one tanker seen on AIS yesterday, one yacht (Pleiades bound for Freemantle) hailed us on VHF the day before. And there are flying fish on the deck again, have to put then overboard before they start to smell. 107 miles to go - getting closer!
