Misto - September 3-5, 2018: On our way to Lombok

The day before a departure is always busy with last minute jobs and checking out, but we were ready to go through the lock on September 4 just before our scheduled time of 9.15 am. We made our way around to Stokes Hill Wharf where the starting line was and it became apparent that the weather forecast for little wind was very accurate. We made the effort to get across the start line with our sails up but immediately had to motor. Once outside the harbor we were able to sail for about 9 hours, but after that the motor-sailing started and tonight we took down the sails as we do not expect to sail for another 2 days! This has become the World Motoring Club - as Emily Morgan put it on tonight's radio net!

It is hot, hot, hot during the day. Unfortunately, the sea is full of huge brown jelly fish which has put paid to any thoughts of stopping for a swim. The sea this evening was the most glassy and reflective ocean surface I have ever seen and we were rewarded with a stunning sunset that sent reflected pools of red, pink and gold across the water.
