Sweet Dream - Day 9 January 21, 2019

Midnight, the Blood moon came into its own, high above the boat masts. The hardier souls had stayed up waiting, lying side by side on the cement, chins tilted back, watching this glorious spectacle. Being of the not so hardy variety, we arose about half past 12 and stood admiring the red moon from the cockpit of the boat. The sky was brilliantly clear, and it was very worth getting up for! In the morning we rode in Toyota four wheel drive trucks through Minca to La Victoria coffee plantation, where we took a step back in time and learned this over 100 year old process was still yielding delicious coffee beans. After yummy cake and coffee, we trekked to a small waterfall, enjoyed a cool dip in the pool, trekked back and went into Minca to a darling restaurant on the river for a wonderful lunch and fellowship. Arriving back at the boat about 5 pm, we connected with the marina repair folks, had a promising dialogue on fixing our main sail haul out pin, then headed to Cocos’ for wine and more fellowship. Here we nibbled beef filled empanadas, a personal favourite snack, chatted with Maurice, and extended our thanks to him for sponsoring this nice evening’ event. A very satisfying second to last day in Santa Marta living the Sweet Dream
