Well as the ARC+ fleet sails south we are still stuck in
harbour waiting on our forestay cable to find its way from Mallorca to Las
Palmas. On Sunday we walked up to the start line and after watching everyone
leave :-(..... we took time to walk the old town which was certainly worth
exploring.
Here is a photograph of our skipper Malcolm having a little
moment - for all of you know this feeling.... enough said.
We have been watching the YB tracks of the
"leavers" and have been following with interest. One small bonus is
that since we occupy the most southerly berth of the six "remainer"
yachts still in harbour then at least we are in the lead of something :-)
Travel plans of our amazing support crew who were leaving
Las Palmas for Cape Verde via Lisbon are being revisited because at this rate
we will have a short turnaround in Mindelo and they are debating if the journey
is now viable.
Most "wire transfers" are instantaneous these days
but ours is already one day later than predicted. We remain positive that we
will get away sometime soon and would like to thank Chris Tibbs and the ARC
team for putting on another weather seminar for us and the other crews today.
Layla over...
