Sweet Dream - Day 6 January 18, 2019

After a night of surprisingly high winds and neighbour’s slapping halyards, we awoke to sunshine and blue skies. Suds started flying all up and down the dock as the boats were scrubbed free of the ocean salt. We enthusiastically joined in, making our girl purr and shine. Laundry was done, hung flapping in the freshening breeze. Chores completed, we popped the bottle of champagne Alan and Avril had brought us in St. Lucia and enjoyed decadent mimosas with our morning breakfast burritos. Afternoon found us immersed in the colourful sights, sounds and sensations of the oldest city in South America. We had a synopsis of the life of Simon Bolivar,( quite a fellow!), visited the hacienda he spent his last days in.....lucky guy. The general consensus was that we wished we could spend more time on that beautiful estate. We visited a lovely cathedral, where Bolivar was first entombed, and by the way, our guide was Baptised! We learned that Santa Marta has her name from the wonderful lady Martha that ministered to Jesus with such great hospitality, and THIS city truly embodies that beautiful spirit! Evening, and the lovely day was capped off with delicious nibbles, fruit punch, and WARCers sharing laughs and swapping sea stories. The drone buzzed, the cameras clicked, while local officials gave interviews as were were living the Sweet Dream
