Mischief - Double Handed

Hi All

We had a great stay in South Africa and really enjoyed the stunning sights and friendly people.

It was great to get back to the UK for Christmas and catch up with friends and family.

We left Cape Town at 11.00am on the 9th Jan and had a great start. Light winds to start but they soon picked up as we sailed clear of Robben Island which required a reef. this was short lived and we soon had the engine on.

Wendy and I have settled into our routine and it is working well. We are getting plenty of sleep and really enjoying the passage so far. The wind has been variable and light and we have done much more motoring than we would have hoped. Where are the trade winds we were promised for this leg?

The South Atlantic has not disappointed with dolphins sharks and whales. There are also lots of Royl Albatross with huge wing spans and so graceful in flight.

Some boats are heading to Namibia for more fuel but we have plenty and are heading straight to St Helena. we hope to get there for when Mick Brown arrives but that will need cooperation from the wind.
