ARC 2018 - Co to była za noc - Was fuer eine Nacht - What a night

POL
Szkwały do 26 węzłów. Mamy też prognozę przysyłaną przez organizatorów, robioną przez meteorologa Chrisa Tibbsa znanego choćby z felietonów pogodowych publikowanych w magazynie Yachting World. Szkwały do 23 węzłów. Mamy też weryfikacje tych prognoz z rzeczywistością. Szkwały do 30 węzłów. Wszystko zostało posprzątane, rozwinięty jeden z przednich żagli i jedziemy dalej. Z ta sama prędkością. Tylko po co to całe zamieszanie? Ech, co to była za noc!

GER
Warum passiert so was immer in der Nacht?

GBR
What a night! All started with the exact analysis of weather forecasts. We are using a couple of them. The first is our own forecast made from data from the Internet, our observation and a pinch of experience. Gusts up to 26 knots. We have also the forecast from ARC and it is made by meteorologist Chris Tibbs, known among others from weather articles in Yachting World. Gusts up to 23 knots. We can make a verification with a reality. Gusts up to 30 knots. First the preventer broke. As we are ready with this mess, in 30 knots gust the spinnaker jumped out of the frame. The rest attached to the foot lik came under the boat. Why does  such mess
always happen at night and never with light winds? Thank god nobody hat the idea to turn on the motor. After all was under control we set one of the stay sails and we sail on. With the same speed. So why all this uproar? Ech, what a night!
