Cerulean of Penryn - Yacht Cerulean Arc+Leg 1 Day 4

It was a dark night, darker than a dark thing with dark clouds, with a few rain squalls bringing some strong winds for short periods but we have alos had some clear skies with a million stars. Dawn has broke with a grey looking sky and the wind has now dropped off and seems to be a bit variable at the moment. We the boat speed having now dropped off and loosing steerage in the confused sea we have put the engine on to help get to our destination.

We played around with sail plans quite a bit in the night to see what suited the best, but the iron topsail one the day.

We have covered some 361nm (not all of it in the right direction) and have some 557nm to go to the finish line at Mindelo, Capo Verde.

Phil has just made one of his wonderful fruit salads for breakfast, we that should help to fight off the scurvy for a while longer.
