Lunni - Ed the Iguana & boat ready to start

Last ten days we have enjoyed a scheduled ARC+ rally program here in Las Palmas. From the beginning at check-in it came clear that the staff or yellowshirts’ of ARC are so experienced that all you need is to go with the ARC+ flow to get all the information and duties done.

Checked the safety of Lunni by ARC / Chris Tibbs, also checked the rigging by Alisios Sailing Center. Got over 20 boxes of groceries delivered to our boat by Hiperdino, also drinks and frozen meets delivered by Ahembo and J.P.Rosper. Went to fruit market few times. Visited the shops and had many lunches at the Muelle Deportivo. Got plenty of new friends of all ages! Everything fine and ready.

Two full seminar days and one safety demonstration morning were very informative, and as the lectures were just for us ARC+ sailors, we’ve got plenty of good tips and useful ideas for next weeks. What we liked a lot, was the ARC+ Children’s Club kept at the same time as seminars. Our children had a fun there, learned a lot of things and for them it was also a big English lesson.

Then, we finally woke up on the last preparation day. Discussed in the saloon with our crew on the seasickness and things that might come along when on the ocean, and the youngest child was a little bit excited.

Suddenly we heard knocking and shouting of the name of our youngest and went on the deck. What a lovely surprise! There were two yellowshirts’ with ARC+ Kids’ Ed the Iguana, and our youngest, Oskar, got Ed with him to take a good care of it during the crossing! So pleased he was, so happy! A perfect moment for him to got some more courage.

Our children already made a boat presentation to Ed the Iguana, also Ed had a dinner with us. So now, on the morning of a start day ARC+2018, Lunni has a crew of six: 3 adults, 2 children and 1 Iguana, happy to start.

And now, lets’ go sailing! Fair winds to ARC+!
