Nutcracker - Log Day 8/9 - Are we there yet?

It turns out a floral snapback is not an acceptable offering. We threw the
sea a hat, it threw back a ripped spinnaker, 35 knot winds and 4+ metre
seas. At least we know for the future.

I've been trying to think of a way to describe the motion on board to those
who wouldn't have felt it before, as in these kinds of conditions simple
things become that little bit more tricky! Imagine trying to drink a cup of
tea in a washing machine, or putting on a pair of socks after about 8 pints,
and you're in the right ball park!

It's all being taken in our stride though and, despite a trip across the
galley, the Aeroccino milk frother is still working a treat. We do like our
little luxuries on board Nutcracker. The latest update from the chart table
is that we should be arriving late on Thursday evening and all being well,
the crew should be seeing the bottom of a beer bottle shortly afterwards. We
expect to receive our first instructions from the admiral on Saturday
Evening!

The Cabin Boys Nautical Notes

NE 4-5 Increasing 6-7 with gale 8 at times, deacreasing NE 4 later. Sea
state, pretty F***ing big. And it's only gone and got cloudy hasn't it.

Dad Joke of the Day

'After 40 knots last night, 25 today feels like a breeze!' (Steve Butters)
