Nutcracker - Log Day 4 - A Race to Torremolinos

Now there's a phrase I didn't think I'd say this trip.

After a smooth crossing across towards Cartagena, and an excellent lunch
(this sailing thing is tricky, honest). We encountered our first real
problem on our great voyage - the dreaded IT issue, a problem so complex and
time consuming that makes the most experienced sailor run a mile. A small
investigation by the skip and some help from further afield identified the
problem, we hadn't turned it on. Ah.

Compared to that small lightning storm was fairly routine, but the skip
decided/ordered - whichever you prefer - that we should head to port and sit
out the incoming weather system. After dining on the chefs homemade balls,
sorry meatballs, we put our foot down and sped down the coast. Our best
option was to go to Port Benalmedena, Torremolinos.

A beautiful sunset followed, completed by the arrival of a pod of dolphins
which was simply stunning.

Excellent progress was made and by 3am we were on approach, the skip on deck
ably assisted by the crew, and soon we would be moored and in bed. Simple.
However, I chose this moment to execute one of the worst berthing manoeuvre
you will ever see, a real horror show. I managed to wake all sleeping crew
up, and they were greeted by the sight of the good ship Nutcracker at right
angles to a straight quay. I should have let the cabin boy do it.
