For the first time since our beginning we have all had a good night sleep
without interruption of waves and sound. This calm came together with such a
clear night sky that i was almost impossible to identify the constellations, but
fortunately Ritchie downloaded an app on his computer, called Planets, which
allowed us to spot the constellations.
The day then started with a beautiful sunrise that unfortunately was only
seen by Mat and Orshi, but luckily there are phones to capture the moment in
photos. <pictures inserts at Wi-Fi reception> More beautiful sunrises/sets
will sure to come, so no worries!
Coral made pancakes to start of the day which put us all in high energy,
aka dance mode. The good atmosphere took away the wind at noon but no crying
over spilled milk as Mat and Emil took the chance to dive into the water, film
to be released of Mat’s belly dive^^ as apposed to Emil’s Olympic swan dive. We
got the boat and started the engine and as soon as we reached 7 knots we caught
our first fish!!! Which deserves a worthy story, Emil style.
I was washing the saltwater from my body as the fishing rod went ‘click
click click’. Mat came running grabbing the rod and started to battle the fish.
15 meters from the boat we could see this beautiful creature with colours that
of a rainbow. It was slowly being reeled onto the boat as we all amazed the
mixed colours of the mahi mahi. Put it onto the boat and knifed the ****er right
in the head. It gave us 1.5 kg of meat.
Dinner was served by Mat; Jamaican cabbage, chicken, curry with mashed
potato(with skin on).
Fact of today:
Routine on a ARC passage; as most of you can probably figure out doing a
passage like this takes its toll on mind and body. So to even it all out amongst
us we have divided the day/night into watches. 4 hours during the day and 3 at
night, this rotating scheme allows us to get different shifts all throughout the
passage. For example; Emil: 0000-0300, Orshi: 0300-0600, Mat: 0600-1000, Coral
& Ritchie: 1000-1400, Emil: 1400-1800, Orshi 1800-2100, Mat: 2100-0000.
