Paw Paw - Log Days 219 & 220: Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

Yesterday we had a great outing - We played golf - The first time since moving onto Paw Paw. In fact the last time we can remember playing was on Keenan's birthday two and half years ago in Chandler.

The Royal Samoan, rated as one of the top 100 golf courses in the world, was beautiful, set in the mountains about 15 minutes drive from Apia. Although a longer course than we were expecting, we didn't do too badly at all and it was simply lovely just to get back into the swing of things.

Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Gormet Seafood restaurant before starting our re-provisioning exercise ahead of our departure for Tonga later this week and had to continue today. Unfortunately one of the joys of sailing is that it's extremely unusual to be able to find everything you need in one store. Although the supermarkets here are really good compared to many of the other islands we've visited thus far, we still had to visit three supermarkets, excluding the fresh produce and markets, which we'll visit just before we leave.

It would also be remiss not to mention Elaine's visit to a local tailor yesterday. After choosing the fabric for her traditional Samoan dress, she was measured and then had the opportunity to choose specific design elements. This is something that she hopes will be a wonderful reminder of the special time we have enjoyed in Samoa, each time she wears it.
