Paw Paw - Log Day 126: Grant a Miracle Please

While Roy runs around like a headless chicken trying to get everything done before our departure for Moorea, "slow" is too good a word for the recovery Elaine is making. "Snails pace" would be more accurate, but the highlight of her day was being able to take a shower and wash her hair after Roy put the cooler box in the shower for her to sit on - "A boer maak a plan", as they say in South Africa.

It was, however, only when she tried to drop her head forward in order to wrap a towel around her wet hair that it really hit home just what her sister, Dianne, has suffered for 10 years - Disabled and in chronic pain every day due to injuries from a car accident 22 years ago that resurfaced 10 years ago and that were neglected by doctors at the time.

Elaine hasn't managed just 4 days of agony and being bedridden, albeit that she is on the road to recovery. Dianne, on the otherhand, although she is receiving all the care she can get, 10 years after the fact, has reached an impasse with her rehab as her body refuses to yield to the treatment that will give her the results her doctors are hoping for. In celebration of Pentecost Sunday tomorrow, Elaine's prayer is that she be granted a miracle!
