Monomotapa - 4 December

Monomotapa 4 December

Rain, rain and more rain, the ARC is supposed to be a t-shirt and shorts trip? My packing strategy was for limited clothes and plenty of opportunities for quick drying on the sun drenched/scorched decks. My supply of sun cream will now last well into next year's summer!
We are now beginning to understand where all this very big puddle comes from...

Heading towards the 1,000 nm to go milestone, could this be a poor excuse for another round of Cuba libres (rum and coke to the less sophisticated) and cakes....

Juan is making a good recovery from his rope burns and should be back on limited duties tomorrow.

We have been more lucky on the wind lottery than our sister boat Milanto. Yesterday we have had good sailing but Milanto is supposed to be running at speeds ranging 2-4 kn/h.

Henrik is sending thanks to his wife for his birthday present. They are very comfortable look like new after 10 days on constant duty. A bonus is that they now come by them self when called after.

If you wondered how last night turned out, please check paragraph one and remove sun... We also seem to have divided the weather between the two watches, one watch gets all the rain and squalls, the other the sun and easy sailing.

Moral aboard slips occasionally but Trevor entertains us with his jokes and songs ... and moral hits a new low until he is threatened with a Keel Haul...

After 10 complete days at sea, we have traversed 1767 nm which leaves 992.

Oh if we mention rain, rain, rain, rain
