Rhumb - Log Day 7

Position 28° 01.2' N, 016° 36.8' W

Putting an optimistic spin on our plight we sincerely hope that this is the last time we report the above position from Marina San Miguel, Tenerife.

A productive day as we prepared lines for eventual deployment of the cruising chute and a poled out genoa, (please note - not at the same time) and of course a gybe preventer on the boom. All we need now is some bolognese sauce to go with the spaghetti laid out on deck. Staying with the culinary note, we did enjoy a rather welcome Sunday roast at Grandee O'Donnell's later in the day, together with the obligatory 3 pints of the creamy black stuff and a bottle of the creamy red stuff - well, someone has to do it!! Hopefully the last night of alcohol for a while - can't believe we said that.

Weather is much more settled with the stormy conditions now well through, and wind predictions look reasonable. Looking out to sea it is clear that conditions out there are improving too. Hopefully we can take advantage of these when setting off tomorrow.

It is now just hope upon hope that the Autohelm drive has arrived and will be fitted.

Rhumb over - John, Brian and Ian
