Nexus - Through Fiji's Lau Group and on to Savusavu today

We had a bumpy night passage through the Lau Group of islands between Fiji and Tonga. We passed through between midnight and six am, which was a little sporty, but with two sets of charts and the moonlight we felt comfortable passing between the series of reefs and islands. We also crossed the 180 meridian so we're back on the east side of the planet again! We're now sailing beautifully on a sunny day with good wind and the Gennaker out, and we just had a large Mahi Mahi steal one of our lures! Since we are arriving from Tonga, the Fiji authorities have directed us to go to a quarantine buoy out in the inlet and wait to be sprayed with insecticide before we enter the harbor. They're trying to control the importation of a mosquito borne illness that is prevalent in Tonga and elsewhere. Sounds like another adventure in bureaucracy ahead of us, we just hope we don't have to spend the night on a ships buoy due to our evening arrival...but if we do,its all part of the adventure!
