Anettine - 170 nm to go !

We have not been able to access the net and update the blog until now, but we keep sailing. The 5th we had a fantastic day with 12hrs spinnaker sailing. Just after dinner we had to tack the main in heavy rain and 24 knots of wind. Anettine was performing well with 2 reefs in the main and genua to the next morning.

'The main event the 6th was that the captain woke up freezing! For the first time for months we could sleep through the night without the exhausting heat. Great!

We started the 7th with a bath in the sea. The day brought very little wind , and we had to use the motor again. The autopilot broke down in the afternoon and after demounting it we found that we can't repair it without parts. We are working to get spares to Bermuda in due time for the restart.

'We had good sailing through the night with the sails reefed down to minimum. The captain got seasick. Jonn (first time in a sailing yacht) was promoted to Steward after good performance. After being without an autopilot for a day we have realized that it's out of the question to start from Bermuda without one.

We expect to arrive in Bermuda the 9th in the evening if the weather forecast becomes reality.
