Timshel - A cautionary tale - ants in the pants!

On Timshel we were stocking up with provisions in Savusavu and unpacking stuff and washing fruit and veg in the cockpit as usual. Steve opened the outer cardboard box of a packet of cup-a-soups (yes, how can he want soup in the tropics, but he is addicted to them) and let out a great shriek as hundreds of ants ran out. We set to to drown them in seawater, the inner soup packets were OK, but we were so glad we had followed all the sage advice and got rid of cardboard in the cockpit, also washing stuff and storing dried goods in extra sealed poly bags in case of contamination. or all those ants would have been in the cabin!
