Mustique - Day 13 - Blog ?? - it all blends together eventually....

What day is it? This has started to become a common question on our trip. We have 850 miles to go, some fantastic wind and the parasail is taking us along at nearly 8 knots. The temperature is steadily rising as we head farther south and all our sun tans are coming along nicely.

The captain continues to produce amazing food, with last evening’s bean stew providing some useful extra wind. Fisherman Dave is feeling the pressure after 2 days of no fresh fish!

We have started to think about water rationing, and the use of the spa has been restricted to one sauna a day. The water maker has been running on overtime!

Biscuitgate - Carol and Liv entered into a highly competativ game of Yahtzee with very high stakes, the last packet of animal biscuits (or crackers, as the Americans like to say). Carol won the day and Liv handed over the biscuits without too much sulking. Then things took a turn for the worst, The biscuits went missing! (Might have had something to do with Dave and Robo!) They did turn up later on in the day, only to be consumed by a totally innocent Anders.

We have some sail repairs to do today, the Main sail clew has chafed over night. Stef has located the problem, we won’t need the main sail for a while so he has plenty of time to fix it. He may even do it in his sleep, we have regular visits on night watch from a sleeping walking Stef!!!!

Dave has made a Spanish Tuna omelette for lunch, he opened the tin himself!!

Signing off

I still don’t know if our strategy of following a northern route will pay off. We seem racing to cover distance between one wind hole and he next, but luckily, the majority of holes seem to be developing in our wake. Right now, we are heading south to join the last section of the more traditional ‘trade wind’ route, but this year, there has been no trades develop and my forecast is showing a lightening of winds as we approach St Lucia - I just hope that we have enough speed to get across this area before it become really light! On more of an upbeat note however, on the arrival sweepstake, which we all took part in back in Las Palmas, I plumbed for the 8th and it looks like thats the day that we will be rounding Pigeon Island - not fixed…..honestly… ;-0
