Unconditional - ARC+ Day 4: Compromise & Fish Stories

With our speed reduced to 7.2-knots average; in part to reduce yawing for ‘the Admiral’, and to reclaim rhum line position to prepare for the finish line now only a couple hundred miles ahead, we slipped back to #4 in our class. Winds are easing which will favor the lighter boats again.
In terms of interesting tidbits; with the wind howling at 5am, we apparently brought up a good-size squid with our in-water gennaker. How much is calamari these days? Also, something really big hit our new 15-Euro Las Palmas fishing lure, taking not only the lure, but the leader, weight & swivel as well. In stowing the pole back in its aft mounted bracket, a breaking aft wave broke the holder from the bracket. Having tied the rod down, however, allowed the rod & reel to sit nicely between ensign and the passarelle halyard, where it remains today.
We might require more wind to cross the finish line by dusk tomorrow.
