Paw Paw - Log Days 246 & 247: Waiting on a Weather Window

Yesterday morning we eventually got the chaps washed, dried and put back on the dinghy, so it's now resembling something similar to its former glory.

We then headed to town to top up our data service plan in the hopes of getting our photographs of Niuatoputapu and Vava'u uploaded to the website as well as make some phone calls to family and friends. Unfortunately the entire communications infrastructure had come to a standstill for no apparent reason, so that idea was abandoned.

With the gloomy and cold weather continuing, we decided to warm the cockles of our heart in the Mango Café where Nina later found us for Happy Hour. Then it was back to Paw Paw for another "dinner and a movie" night.

This morning, with Elaine's back and ankle playing up again the past few days, she eventually caved in and took some pain medication which basically knocked her out for the morning, while Roy finished fixing the reefing line system as well as bake some soda bread for lunch.

With everything now ready, except decent weather, it was off to Nina for afternoon tea. Roy was pleasantly surprised to receive some freshly baked goods from Nina, complements of Karen, as a thank you for his help recently.

The good news is that the sun has eventually peeked out this evening, so we're hoping the weather starts to improve and a good weather window opens up for our sail to Fiji. In the interim we'll just be patient and enjoy some of the delights of Tonga that we've yet to experience.
