Paw Paw - Log Days 111 & 112: Saying Goodbye

Yesterday and today have been rather quiet days for the first time in a long time. Elaine has been playing her saxophone and making phone calls to family and friends. Roy has been catching up on some repair jobs, specifically, having to lap the cones on the clutch of our starboard engine and replacing the wind generator controller.

We did, however, have our peaceful morning interrupted when the apposing current and wind turned Paw Paw very close to the yacht on the mooring ball next to us, forcing our hand to move sooner rather than later. Of course, with only one engine, we couldn't move until the clutch was reassembled.

No sooner had we settled on our new mooring ball, when we had to start saying our goodbyes to the yachts that departed today - Zoom, Into the Blue, Wishhanger II and Blue Summit. We're hoping we haven't missed Overseas Express, but we still have a few more days to spend with Nina, Ain't Fancy and Waterman. It is a sad time and seems to have come about way too quickly, but we've had a great adventure together and have wonderful memories to hold dear.

It's a true saying though, that "as one door closes, another one opens", as tonight we await the arrival of our friends, Olga and Denis, and looking forward to the next two weeks with them.
