Dala - Swimming in the middle of the Atlantic!

Hi, all,

You got it! The notable event of the past day was that I plunged from my boat into the 4000 meters deep Atlantic ocean... Not that I wanted to do so, but again we faced a problem which had to be solved. A most stupid problem, to tell the truth. Simply, we completely stopped the boat for we wanted to transfer fuel from a tank to the other. And while doing so, in the pleasant declining sun, calm sea and low swell, all the three of us forgot that we were trolling fishing lines. Of course, what had to happen happened and the port fishing line found itself completely entangled into the port propeller! What a mess!
Well, we could have cut the line, but what was the situation down under in the propeller? It could be serious because the line end, about 2 meters, is metallic and there is a big hook then. Such things would certainly not be good for the propeller's health...
So, "snorkeling" appeared to be the solution. Do not worry, I attached myself to the boat with a strong rope. You may remember: The ex-topping lift which became a halyard and then a messenger and then became jobless. It found an respectable new job being my lifeline. I noticed in the most beautiful green eyes of my Lady Joelle a reflect of her worries... The water was not too cold and the visibility good. I took my diving knife and jumped to the water. A few glances around me, any shark around? No, nothing, which shark may be interested by an old salt like me?
Then I went to the propeller: Big mess indeed but to my deep relief, not the hook and not the metallic line end found their way to the propeller. It took me four or five snorkeling trips under the boat to clean it all.
And a few minutes later I was back safe on board ready to enjoy a memorable Shabbath evening together with a fantastic sunset!

Nice weekend to all and Shabbath Shalom to my family in Israel and Jewish friends around the world,
