Lexington - 7/23/2017 Passage to Australia

It is 04:00 and I am on watch. We are making really good progress for a sail boat. We have 15-19 knots of wind from the southeast which is allowing us to make about 7 knots most of the day. That gives us a moderately bumpy ride but good time and no one has vomited. Beth is queasy at times. We are at 161 degrees east. We started at 60 degrees west. That means we have done 139 degrees out of the 360 degrees we will need to complete. It is a long ass trip for an old farm boy who is a homebody. We have two long legs where we will tick off a lot of degrees. Crossing the Indian Ocean and the South Atlantic Ocean will add a lot of degrees. I am looking forward to Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. I am trying to read some while sailing to know where to go and what to see. We could probably spend a few years there. That is one of my biggest downfalls. I did not read and study enough before the trip. May fair winds fill your sails with anticipation of exploring! Bob
