Lexington - Captain Bob: dumb luck 3/1/17

A few days ago I misplaced my credit cards and money. This made me feel dumb. My money had come out of my pocket as I got into the boat a few days before. When that happen I went back to land to alert the water taxis of my dilemma. No one had seen it. When I got back to the boat the crew had found it in the cockpit where I had set down upon getting back to the boat.
This time I had been working on the generator when the fish plugged the intake. I had dove into the water to see what was plugging the intake. My money was in my pocket but I was all over the boat working on the generator, sometimes with my feet up in the air to get my head down to see something. I looked all over for about 2-3 days with no luck. Last night I rented a scuba tank and regulator to see if I could find it in the water. The scuba fella asked about my certification but I told him it was on the sea bed. I do not think he was too worried. To find something 2 days later after going overboard is a task. First of all, our boat had about 160 feet of chain out so that means it can be anywhere along a circle with a 160 foot radius. Fortunately I remembered about where we were on that arc. In the evening the wind switches to o e direction and we were about there.
I dove in with my rented scuba gear not having done scuba for about 10 years. I went down the anchor chain and tried to swim a grid pattern of search. After about 30 minutes I saw a little plastic ziplock bag with my credit cards and money. I recovered all my credit cards and about $400 in cash. What a lucky fool!?!?
Hope all is well with you at home.
Bob
