Lexington - Captain Bob: evening out

We went to town tonight to have dinner. There are lots of small open air restaurants along the main drag. Often there are just a few customers and few workers. One that we went to in San Cristobal only had one person.
Tonight we chose a place with a half 55 gallon barrel drum as the grill out front on the street. We all had fresh grilled tuna done to our order, rare. It was excellent with a nice salad and french fries.
We talked to a couple at the next table who were from Austria. They were a young couple, boy friend and girl friend who had taken off 4 months or until their cash runs out to travel South America and California. He had worked in research in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and she had worked doing clinical psychology. Neither were in love with their jobs so they just quit to travel. They were on a tight budget, traveling a lot by bus.
We are heading to Santa Cruz tomorrow. It is only about 40 miles to the east. The city will be Ayora which is the largest city in the Galapagos with about 16,000 residents. This we'll be our departure place for our longest leg to the South Pacific, 3,000 miles. We will do our provisioning there for this leg. Mark Arnold is joining use for this leg. He is bringing parts for 3 boats. He will be immediately popular as this is a big favor to do for other boaters. This is Mark's first big offshore passage. Hopefully he will enjoy himself. He has done a lot of boating so he should do well. If he does not do well he will be stuck with us as there is no place to get off. How many of you would bite that off as a first big passage?!
Hope all is well with everyone.
Bob
