Exocet Strike - 4-5 February 2017

Saturday afternoon was a lovely one, full sun and blue sky, but not much wind. It got better in the evening and overnight, seems to be the pattern. So we made good progress, a 160+ mile day, which in 10 to 18 knots of wind dead astern is not too bad.
Sunday was a repeat of Saturday, gradually dying wind, boat speed down to 4.5 to 5.5 knots. The sea temp is climbing though, it's approx 28 deg c now, and the ambient temp is climbing during the day. Pretty sure Salvador will feel pretty warm compared to South Africa, and humid. At least we can use a hose pipe in Brasil, the drought in Southern Africa meant it was only possible to use a hose pipe for boat cleaning once a week, and we didn't often do that out of guilt.
No fish caught again, what's wrong. We aren't alone, most of the rest of the fleet are not catching anything either. Golden Dragon had a big strike yesterday, but it got away, maybe just as well since it straightened out a triple hook and took a big bite out of the lure. Must have been a big one, maybe a big Tuna, or a shark!
