Exocet Strike - 30-31 January 2017

Slow progress! Winds are definitely down, at one point today we only had 6 knots of wind, however it is behind us and we are still averaging 4.5 to 5 knots towards Salvador. In our new sail configuration it's so much quieter than before, much less stress on the rig!
Yesterday for the first time since we left St Helena we gybed from Port to Starboard. Funny, when we raced we did that in a minute or less sometimes, now it can take 20 mins to half an hour, if we're trying hard that is!

No fish yet on the leg, maybe they don't like South African lures, or maybe we are going too slowly. Hopefully a new month and new fishing luck.
The pilot books suggest this leg is one of the quietest for conditions, it certainly seems to be. I'm sure though that going up the Brasilian coast will be more of a test, and going through the doldrums at the equator will also not be too much fun.
