Exocet Strike - stardate 16-17 January 2017

Greetings from the south Atlantic.
Yesterday and overnight produced some great sailing, this boat loves going downwind, fortunately. We have a true wind angle of approx 165 to 175 degrees, I'd almost directly behind us and a wind strength of 14 to 20 knots, so we've been averaging over 7 knots all day and night with a mostly gentle roly gait. The sea has died down a lot which makes life much more comfortable.
We made contact with several boats in our fleet on the SSB radio, nice to be in touch.
Yesterday became quite sunny, however today is mostly grey. The water them is 24 deg C but the air temp feels a bit cooler, no doubt why there is so much cloud.
Tomorrow we should cross the meridian, from east to west, and by st Helena we shall be at roughly the same longitude as back home in Plymouth. One could argue that we will have completed a circumnavigation by then, however it's not counted as a circumnavigation until you cross the track you went out from, so for us that means St Lucia! Oh well only another three months to go for that milestone!
