Kiloran of Edinburgh - Mr and Mrs Haddock buy a boat

Ode to a boat purchase

I am a salty sea dog
and Haddock is my name
I eat raw fish and drink straight rum
and fishing is my game.
I need a boat to sail the seas
but which one should I choose?
I'm doing the ARC in 17
and I don't want to loose.

It could be a Benetau
or a bigger CNB
the children liked them very much
and they look quite good to me.
What about a Rustler?
Princess Anne has got one too
If they are good enough for her my man
they are good enough for you.
I called her up to ask advice
and she invited me for tea
things were going very well
until she put her hand upon her knee. (I was wearing my kilt)

Ok how about an Oyster they look pretty swell
I'm told they are an aphrodisiac
When eaten from a shell
Mrs Haddock said yes please
and then went in a huff
I explained in simple terms
that 3 kids was enough.

Get a Swan and join the club
and then have friends for ever
or Southerly with a lifting keel
and sail right up a river. (Irish accent needed)
A Hanse, Moody or a Fyfe
or a Halberg Rassy to enhance our life.

We couldn't decide there are so many
and mostly costing a pretty penny.
Then it came to me in a flash
off to the bank to get the cash
not too big and not too small
The Discovery had it all.
(even a washing machine for Mrs Haddock (Chips))

Yours Capt Haddock
at 14 degrees North, 34 degrees West, 3 sheets to the wind!

Aye aye
