Exocet Strike - Exocet Strike 5-6 March 2017

Whoop whoop, we are back in the northern hemisphere after more than 2 years in the southern. Must say we do look forward to heading back south in 2018!
A challenging day yesterday, we are right in the middle of the ITCZ, or doldrums. We had squall after squall go over, and the wind angle was terrible, for some of the time we were heading due north. Then no wind, for maybe half an hour or so we persevered, but then with on,y 2-3 knots of wind that motorists g out of this area would be sensible. After 50 mins the wind went up and up and forward and we were able to start sailing again in 17 knots of easterly. This has remained all night, so we will take it while we can.
Due to going a lot more north than required we have lost some current, but we should get back into that tomorrow. Even now we have 1.5 knots positive.
Re the motoring,me figured our buddy boat Golden Dragon would look down on us with disdain,,turns out they had been motoring for far longer.
