Ximera - Day 8 - One week of life at sea

16∞ 21.62 N - 23∞ 29.01 W --> 15∞28.45 N - 24∞58.89 W

We're in the middle of Cape Verde archipelago. We're crossing this beautiful corner of the world from NE to SW, the islands are former volcanoes, their heights pierce the clouds up to 3000mt above sea level. The vision of this contradictory landscape is enriched by thousands of flying fish and fishing birds (gannets, egrets, petrels...).

It's really a nice "goodbye land" before crossing in earnest, 2100 Nm to Barbados island. At 1300 we've had a lunch-party to celebrate our first week at sea and our first time change. We're now UTC-1 time, going south-west and searching for more steady and stronger winds.

We've had guests for our dinner-party! Finally some fish is in our galley and in our pans: mahi-mahi and bluefin tuna fish fried in ginger garlic lemon soup! Delicious. Since early this morning, we've caught 5 fish, freed the small ones and lost some bigger ones.

Nice parties, goodbye land, now we're surrounded by nothing more than sea, waiting for other sea-life phenomena ...
