Isabel - Day 6

Friday 12 Noon 27/11/2105
22 23 25 N 33 41 44 W - 158 miles daily run - 1688 distance to St
Lucia - and about a 1000 miles from anywhere!

The kite has been up for 33 hours now giving us good speeds and pushing us
up to second in class - see ARC Tracker. After a few gybes we are now
headed south as light winds are upon the rhumb line a couple of days ahead -
referring to the Ladybird book of navigation we are therefore heading south
first then west to the bar at St Lucia...... we'll see how this pans out.

Philip (the owner, lovely guy) made telephone call home yesterday evening
to learn the very sad news that the family cat Marmite had passed away so a
cheeseboard was immediately produced and a bottle of red to toast the life
of Marmite and a minutes silence held...

Two flying fish found on deck (Inedible!)

Huuurta guurtta Dutchman **** Nick has still caught no ffisshhh but has
lost 300m of line out the back of the boat. Someone please contact David
Attenborough and we can forward Nicks details. When you see Dolphin(s) on
the discovery channel wrapped in errant fishing line you know who did it.
Don't have nightmares or let this play on your mind..........

On the fishing front I have assisted in re-loading the Shimano TLD 25 reel
with 300 metres of 0.52mm 24.2 kg line and we try again - not Nick obviously
:-) - Skipper's turn!

Allegedly Peter (AKA -Pete The Broach!) having a go at helming with the
breeze up broached slowly up into the wind (McGregor yacht style) and a
"little" seawater has shot into James (Skipper's) cabin.. not funny...
obviously!

The sea state is calm, the sun is shining and Paul is awaiting the generator
to go on to put his washing in the washing machine. To date this trip we
have not been able to use the dish washer either owing to the motion but
that too may come into use soon, it's tough out here on an Oyster!

Tuna Pasta a'la Phil for tea, the tinned variety as our fishermen let us
down!

Cheers

Mike (Edits by James)

****For those who missed earlier blog "Disappointing" Nick is named so as we
were expecting and promised a young delightful (gorgeous) German girl to run
the on board catering and instead we have NICK - enough said!!
