Luna Quest - Tuesday, 15th September, 2015

Noon Position: 09.34S 112.11E

Daily run: 114 logged miles

A gentle breeze sprang up yesterday afternoon giving us enough confidence to raise the parasailor. The seas were calm and as the wind increased to a moderate breeze, Luna Quest galloped her way over the swell and gave us a remarkably stable experience. We left it up for the night and good speeds were had until about 5am when the wind dropped to a light air causing the parasailor to sway about without getting filled. Later in the morning we took it down and started the engine.

The seas last night around Luna Quest were a diffused luminous milky white as though a powerful spotlight shone from the sea bottom. Julia compared it to sailing in a lime milkshake The sky was clear, but melded into the white sea as though a misty veil connected the two. Further astern the spinner of the water-towed generator stood out in its own white patch. There was no moon, only the stars were brightly lit.

Julia still has not quite recovered. She has difficulty keeping her food down, so we have begun a regime of no food for a while and plenty of drinking. She looks well enough, there is colour in her cheeks and she does not have a temperature.
