Gozwoz - Day 7 from Bermuda

Following the visit from the Great Examiner we had a wind-free period where we were motoring overnight - peaceful sleep! With the moans and groans that emanate from the twisting hull it does take some time to get used to and to fall to sleep. But all of us sleep during the day at some time.

This morning we were suddenly in a force 5 wind from the SSE. Where did this come from? Only after downloading the GRIB files and ARC weather report did we see the big picture across the North Atlantic. Coalescing highs from east and west are forming a large high that will extend to the UK. Presumably better weather at home! For us it leaves a quandary - do we go the north route or the south (Thanks for the tip Clive)? Today the decision was made for us by the winds and it will be interesting to see the Yellowbrick route on completion of the leg to observe just how we have been influenced by the weather. We take each day as it comes - with fresh surprises!

The minnow lure was today transferred from the left to the right wing and came home a winner - a lovely young tuna fish was caught. Initially spotted by the Coxswain it was left to the Navigator himself to bring the fish on board. So this evening the crew have feasted on tuna steak, and very delicious it was! The minnow of course is chuffed - its transfer fee has rocketed but as yet there is no indication of him wanting to leave the boat.
