Aretha - Light Winds. 18 05.8 N 41 51.8 W

Sir Chay Blyth said to me many years ago: “races are won and lost in light airs”.

Ok. We’re not racing. But we are surrounded by other boats who we’d prefer to beat. Provided of course we’re safe and the children are getting enough time and are happy.

Today has been light airs day. Shifting from one gybe to another as the light fluffy breeze shifts around. To boot, the largest squalls we’ve seen so far - massive on the radar screen. It’s continuous activity and it takes its toll as its full on concentration.

We’re moving again properly now and we’re half way through the first watch of the night. Couple of match sticks would help as I’ve been on deck all day.

In other news, Bluebell has been cooking today with Jani - Carbonara, Chocolate Brownies and Rissotto. If there were a prize for the best fed boat I’m certain we would win it.

School work continued this morning - surprisingly good levels of concentration and some much appreciated peace and quiet.

More squalls coming in. Over and out from Team Aretha.
