Ekaterina - Finally up Blogging!!!

Well a quick summary of the 1st 6 days. We decided on the more direct Westerly route rather than heading south. It has proven a good decision! After getting out near last from the start, we are in a very good position passing the sub 2000 mile mark last night. We are on a direct course for St Lucia and have been averaging 150 mile days which is better than we expected for the boat. We think we have escaped most of the low pressure system which tracked down over the Canaries in the last day or two. Its been very rough the last 24 hours, as the wind turned to the northwest and we were beating in to it with a large swell on our beam. Very unpleasant!! combine that with water leaking into the cabin over my bunk!! But hopefully we have passed it now and gradually approaching the trade winds to the south. With conditions easing we can get the fishing rod back out to add to the 8 pound Mahi Mahi we landed on day 2. Fresh food is mostly gone so more fish is a must!!

Cheers for now
